The Great Cloth Diaper Change 2016

Change starts with you!

Join South PiNanays (SPiN) in the Great Cloth Diaper Change (GCDC) where families will simultaneously change baby diapers and hope to enter the Guinness World Record for the ‘most cloth diapers changed’ at one time. This event will be held on April 23, 2016 at 2L Carousel Court, Festival Mall, Alabang, Muntinlupa City, from 10am to 4pm. There will also be talks on cloth diapering, breastfeeding, and oral care and dental health.

The GCDC is an annual worldwide event created by the Real Diaper Association that aims to spread awareness about the benefits of cloth diapering, advocating cloth diapers as an environment-friendly choice for families. Last year’s record logs 280 unique locations worldwide with 7,441 babies changed, including 34 participants in the event organized by SPiN in Alabang.

Nina Atienza, founder and president of SPiN, shares that there are more options when it comes to cloth diapering aside from the humble lampin. "The lampin of old is no longer the only option because now there is a wide range of modern cloth diaper systems available at different price points and without the chemicals, which make them gentler on our baby's skin! CDs also help save money because you can just purchase 24 pieces and reuse even for succeeding children."

This event is done in partnership with Modern Cloth Nappying Pinays (MCNP), Breastfeeding Pinays, Mommy Talk Philippines, and Newlyweds@Work. MCNP will be holding a separate event in San Juan, Metro Manila.

Sponsors for the SPiN GCDC include Festival Mall, David's Salon, Sylergy, Sydenase, Tempra, Green Cross, Zonrox, PeeWee Explorers, The Nest, Kidsmile Pediatric Dental Clinic, and Ingente-Valencerina Photography.
